Kumaon Rowan is a small tree like
Nepal Rowan, with white-woolly flower
clusters but leaves usua!ly with shallow pointed and toothed lobes,
hairless above when mature and with greyish-white wool beneath, or
rarely hairless. Flowers are white, scented, 1.3 cm across; petals
nearly hairless; styles densely woolly in lower half. Fruit is
yellowish-red, 1-3 cm across, edible. Kumaon Rowan is found from
Afghanistan to West Himalaya, to C. Nepal, at altitudes of 2500-3400 m.
